about us
Since 2006 in Englpolding
Céad mile failte
In 2006 a dream came true: we found a real home. Not just for the ponies, but also for us (Annette, Björn and Lasse). Everything is perfect now. At last we can live with our ponies, and have enough space to continue breeding them. Some friends even have their own Connemaras in pension with us. There are always visitors enjoying the atmosphere in Englpolding, which is just a 15-minute drive from Munich airport. So, should you be in the area, please come and have a look at our stud farm and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
Glandy´s Connemaras since 1978
It all started when I was pony-crazy like most girls in Germany.(I know of course that boys are equally crazy about ponies in Ireland.) As a six-year old schoolgirl, I started riding the neighbour’s Shetland ponies. At thirteen, I finally got my own first Connemara pony called Glendalough Grey. Except for the offspring of my mare Carleen, all of the ponies I own now are daughters or granddaughters of Glendalough Grey. Right from the beginning, I was ambitious about breeding, and I was still at school when my first foal was born. At the beginning, I had my pony in pension and could not afford to have a foal every year. But ever since I got my own stable in 1998, the breed has been developing, and I am proud to say that all my mares are home-bred.
Success on the showground has given me real pleasure: you can of course buy a good pony and get first prize at a breeding show, but it feels much better when you can show the progeny of your own mare and take a champion back home.
On this homepage you will find information about our ponies and their progeny. It also shows you the ponies we have for sale.
Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to send us an e-mail. If you would like further information on Connemara ponies in general, we recommend the following link: http://www.connemara-pony-ig.de
